Excelsior
Designs Partners in IHFC® Renovation
October 10, 2006, High Point, NC—Excelsior
Designs, well-known for striking, artistic contemporary furniture
designs, assisted the International Home Furnishings Center® (IHFC)
with their recent building renovation by providing furnishings for
the executive office lobby and reception area.
The multi-million dollar construction project includes the complete transformation
of the interior and exterior of the Commerce Street entrance. The interior
restoration was finished just in time for the October High Point Market, which
begins Monday, October 16. The building’s exterior is set to be completed
in April 2007, and will tie into the newly-expanded transportation terminal.
Tom Loney, vice president leasing/marketing with the IHFC stated, “The
new space is a clean, contemporary presentation. Terrazzo floors, stainless
steel, marble, and crotch mahogany veneers are some of the elements used that
combine flawlessly to create a true contemporary flavor.” He adds, “We
wanted to extend that look for our new offices and reception area and believed
we already had the number one resource in our building to provide the distinctive
products, finishes, and quality we required. We were thrilled to have Excelsior
Designs work with us on this project. The eight pieces chosen for our lobby
are absolutely beautiful and create an elegant, inviting environment, yet still
make a classic statement.”
The new seating arrangement is from the Nicole Miller Collection, a highly
successful October 2005 introduction designed by famed fashion designer Nicole
Miller. Exclusively produced by Excelsior Designs, the Nicole Miller Collection
features over 70 pieces of living, dining, and bedroom furniture. The contemporary
styling features sleek European construction mixed throughout with Miller’s
classic color and design aesthetic. Exotic veneers, brushed stainless steel,
and exclusive fabrics are all part of this stunning collection.
Steven Kayne, president of Excelsior Designs said, “We are pleased to
have been chosen to participate in the renovation of this space. The overall
image of the High Point Market is important to exhibitors as we strive to improve
the shopping experience for our retailers.”
