Excelsior Designs Announces Custom Rug Program

October 5, 2006, North Amityville, NY—Excelsior Designs, one of the country’s preeminent contemporary home furnishings manufacturers, has announced yet another segment of the upscale furniture manufacturer’s offerings. In collaboration with Thailand custom rug manufacturer, Carpet Creation, a line of custom rugs will be launched bearing the Excelsior Designs and Nicole Miller Collection brands, as well as an extensive array of styles from the Carpet Creation library.

“ What makes this program so unique,” stated Steven Kayne, president of Excelsior Designs, “is the sheer number of choices that are available to customers.” Each rug can be a one-of-a-kind work of art, with the customer choosing from hundreds of combinations of colors and yarns. There are six rug patterns created exclusively for the Nicole Miller Collection and eight patterns that complement Excelsior Designs and Casa Novalia Leather. Each design can be adapted for the shape and size that best suits the room. Or, Kayne elaborated, “If that amount of creative freedom seems overwhelming, also offered are recommended designs in colors, shapes, and sizes specially created for our furniture collections.”

Within the Nicole Miller Collection assortment are the design motifs found in her furniture and splashes of color derived from the palettes in the 200-plus upholstery fabrics. Bold geometrics and subtle swirls in neutral hues are hallmarks of the Excelsior Designs rug collection. Each rug is handcrafted in the finest New Zealand wools and Asian silks, and many feature a distinctive bevel cut construction.

To be introduced in the Excelsior Designs showroom at the October High Point Market, the company’s sales associates will be representing the new rug program. The rugs are expected to debut at Excelsior Designs retailers in January 2007. They will also be available in rug specialty stores. Approximate retail prices range from $1499 and up, depending on the complexity of the design, the size and shape of the rug, and materials used to create each design. Custom rugs can be delivered within 10-12 weeks.
